Everyone had a ball at the much anticipated ‘Wolterton Extravagant’ masquerade last Saturday! Plenty of eating, drinking, dancing, and fundraising went on and we raised an astounding £12,000 for Hospice Ethiopia. Very many thanks to all those who so generously gave their time and money – it couldn’t have happened without you.
There was an impressive array of prizes for the raffle and some great ‘promises’ in the auction – from a flight around Norfolk, to handmade intricate jewelry. The music was also a hit, with a variety of genres on the night spanning about 400 years of history. We ate a delicious three course meal with a tasty shepherd’s pie, followed by fruit compote, cream and shortbread, washed down with champagne from Villiers St Dennis, France. Finally, the weight of one of the hosts,’Trump’ the pug, was revealed to over be 13 kilograms! Of course, the star of the show was the Hall itself – Wolterton looked absolutely beautiful; our thanks goes to Peter Shepperd and Keith Day who so kindly let us use their home for the event.
